Turn on your car A/C

Instead of opening up the windows when you drive, it would be a better idea to instead turn your air conditioner on and roll up the windows. Why, you ask? Because a rolled down window actually reduces the aerodynamics of the car, making it less fuel efficient, especially when driving at high speeds (like on the highway). Tip: Driving with the windows rolled up will increase the fuel economy by 20%.

Feed the birds!

Got old or stale bread in your pantry? Don't just toss them away! Tie a piece of string around the bread or bagel and hang it in a tree either in your backyard or at the park. Tip: You can spread some peanut butter on the bread and roll it in bird seed to give them an extra treat!

Organic Gardening

A few tips for you avid gardeners:

- Got slugs in your garden? Make a beer trap by digging up a glass jar or container in your garden, and pouring beer up to about 1/2 inch from the top. The trick? Slugs are attracted to the beer, which acts as a great bait for these pesky critters.

- What to get rid of pesky aphids and spider mites from your plants? Use 1 tablespoon of dish soap to 2 litres water. Pour the solution into a spray bottle and spray your plants where they are infected with the bugs.

Black spots on leaves

Here is an easy and effective way to cure the black spots on leaves of your roses, flowers, and other plant leaves.
Make a solution of 1 part milk to 2 parts water. Pour this solution into a spray bottle. Spray on rose leaves or other leaves.
The trick? The lactoferrin in milk, which is a subfraction of whey protein, works great as a defungicide, inhibiting a wide range of fungus, bacteria and yeast.
