Turn on your car A/C

Mrs_Tip_a_day's picture

Instead of opening up the windows when you drive, it would be a better idea to instead turn your air conditioner on and roll up the windows. Why, you ask? Because a rolled down window actually reduces the aerodynamics of the car, making it less fuel efficient, especially when driving at high speeds (like on the highway). Tip: Driving with the windows rolled up will increase the fuel economy by 20%.

Yes, Ms Tip a Day, But...

First of all, Welcome! I believe you're trying to compete with me?

Anywho, to add some detail to your tip, the break even point is about 40km/h. Anything above 40km/h is recommended to have the windows rolled up and AC on to increase efficiency.

Your welcome ;)
