New Green Invention Makes Water Recycling Faster and Cheaper

Eco-Chic's picture

Imagine a new system that cleans water cheaper that conventional systems, and is faster. That is what a California scientist, Meng Lean, has invented. His new invention is a water filtration method that can recycle water about five times faster than today's system, and will use less land space than current water-treatment plants.

Although the water is not currently safe for drinking, it can be used for a variety of other activities, such as gardening and agriculture.

The system uses a spiral filtration system, and works by funnelling water through lightweight disks that spin, which separate dirt and particles from the water.

Lean and his team plan to experiment on a larger level by the end of June. Their target is to recycle 100 liters of water per minute.
