Solar Energy Systems Rebate

Save money on your new solar panel energy system or upgrade by using Ontario’s Solar Energy Systems Rebate Program. The Solar Energy Systems Rebate returns homeowners or builders the Retail Sales Tax (RST) for which they paid on a new installation or upgrade of a solar system.

Eligible components:
- solar collector panels (photovoltaic or thermal)
- charge converters
- inverters
- other applicable components such as wiring, controllers, pumps, tubing, heat exchangers and energy storage tanks
- the first battery purchased to store the energy produced by the system

Note: Retail Sales Tax (RST) is also referred to as Provincial Sales Tax (PST) and is currently 8% in Ontario.
